Hard to find composition notebooks that have college ruled paper. As an adult I don't need the wide ruled paper. I prefer college ruled paper but I sitll like keeping notes in composition notebooks. The pages stay in the book. I can keep everything in chronological order or use separate books for different subjects/projects. Staples brand is also reliable. The pages are thick enough that you can use both sides of the paper. Not too heavy so you can carry this with you. I got this on sale at Staples so it was a great bargain. But even at the regular price the Staples composition notebooks are a good deal.

Sturdy/Excellent Quality

These composition notebooks are excellent quality. I use them for my middle school students for their Response Journals. The sewn seam helps keep the notebooks intact and can withstand significant abuse. The paper quality appears to be better than spiral bound notebooks and they have the added benefit of the binding not crushing like the spiral bound. I selected college ruled because they make students write using a smaller font and ultimately lead to neater writing. I strongly recommend these for middle school students and adults and believe others will agree with the excellent quality designation.

The usual composition notebook

These are your standard bound composition books the kind teachers require in grammar school and middle school. Except these are college ruled rather than wide ruled so if your kid is comfortable writing on the skinnier lines the advantage is you get more on a page. Nothing fancy here pretty much the same thing you can get at other office supply stores. Usually one store or another will offer them on a super sale at back to school time. There are fancier styles with decorative covers by my kid always wants the plain ones because they decorate them at school.

Very flexible and thin book covers than prior. No combined bulk offers BUT .25 cents each is good discount.

I don't have kids that need these for school. I need them for myself. I bought enough of them to put in all rooms for notes and thoughts when needed. Got them at a reduced price and that is always great.

THIN CHEAP COVERS

The composition books are now made with thinner and more flexible covers (BAD CHANGE). The pages do not turn as easy as the prior binding. Generally terrible change in mfg of compositiion books.
