We use them to hold filled shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child (a program of Samaritan's Purse).They last during all of the handling and shipping that is involved.

I had a hard time finding large rubber bands in the local stores including Staples so I did a search online and found these. I was amazed that Staples could ship an inexpensive product like this for free plus they arrived in a few days. They fit over file folders perfectly and are exactly what I needed.
