Great for the price during tax season!

I originally went into Staples to buy drawing chalk for my kids and some cardboard file boxes for storing files. I saw this file cabinet on sale and for almost the same price I would have paid for the cardboard boxes I could buy this! Much better deal it locks is easy to put handles on only downside is metal is not very heavy duty so no putting a printer or anything on top it would probably dent it. Besides that I think it is a great buy for the price and from my understanding from a sales associate it goes on sale every tax season.

Excellent value

Bought a few of these to sit under a countertop in an office. Actually had them painted to match other items of furniture. Could not have asked for a better result! Note; these are not ultra-sturdy or reinforced for industrial applications but are perfectly adequate under normal office situations and you could not beat the price.

Cheaply manufactured

I bought two of these file cabinets at once; upon opening them up I was quite disappointed in their quality. I did not bang or drop or hit the filing cabinet at all and as I was screwing on the handle and attempted to close the drawer it was sticking; after much looking and wondering why it was not closing I finally lifted the cabinet only to find that a rim had bent upwards and as a result the drawer would not close as it should! I was able to take my thumb and bend the rim back down and voila the drawer closed. So I'm a little disappointed.

works for college students nothing special bad part is that the bottom will scratch floors since it's metal with no furniture pads on it

Buy better quality

Although the file was at a low price you get what you pay for. The drawers do not hve glides to hold file toward the front and you MUST ou hanging folders otherwise files will not stand up. The store DID NOT have the file on display so I did not know the quality or faults before buying. I guess I can not return for a refund since I have assembled it. Suggest you buy a better quality.

Very thin metal. When delivered I thought the box was empty it was so light. Surprised it wasn't damaged there was so little packing protection material. That said now that it is filled and functioning it is fine. Not a work horse that you can grab and yank open or slam shut. But for a small business or home use it is adequate. Since I got it with a sale price and used rewards I didn't pay a lot for it. Sure wouldn't pay the regular full price for it.

This is perfect for me anyway. I had no problem moving it around to see where I did want to put it. I have arthritis so moving and lifting is not easy. But this cabinet empty that is is no problem for me. Had no dents no ding packing was great and not a lot for me to get rid of. Yes I would recommend this to any one who needs a locking file cabinet to just stash those papers that willl mean nothing to anybody. Again I say buy it. perfect size and stashes out of the way.

This is good economical filing cabinet that fits well in small space. It is heavy enought to handle basic home filing needs and was light enough for me to assemble and put into place in my home.
