It works just like new !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tape may be manufactured from recycled plastic, but it works just like regular tape. In fact it may be better as it seems maybe a little stiffer, which helps when you are trying to extend more out to get it stuck onto something awkward without it curling up and sticking to itself.

Easy to start but it doesn't stick.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this tape for free to test it and review it. It was easy to start the tape and it moved easily as I rolled it over the box. However, it didn't really stick. I left it on the box for a while and came back to check it later and I could remove the tape without any effort. It was as if the glue never worked. I could simply lift the entire thing off the box.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Recycled and still heavy duty

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from 3M in exchange for my objective review. The Scotch Heavy Duty Recycled Packaging Tape provided a strong seal on a box I am storing in my garage. The tape is thicker than expected but tore cleanly and easily from the dispenser without any stray pieces that would make the next use difficult. The incorporation of recycled plastic, especially ocean-bound plastic, is an added bonus. The tape appears frosty rather than clear, but, according to 3M, text/scans can be read through a single layer of tape. Because I did not have a package to ship, I could not test the scan assertion; however, I was able to read words through the tape. I am happy that 3M has developed a useful product with recycled materials.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scotch Heavy Duty Recycled Tape Seems flimsy at first glance due to the look of the tape but don’t let that deter you from using it. It provides the same strength and quality as regular tape. What is nice is that it is recycled which is even better for the earth.

Heavy Duty & Recycled!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Scotch Heavy Duty Recycled Packaging Tape is a great product for both shipping and packing needs, all while making you feel good about helping the environment. The tape backing is made from 100% percent recycled plastic, which gives the tape an almost opaque appearance. The tape is extremely thick and durable, but the product claims it is still scannable through one layer of tape when shipping an item. It comes in a very strong red plastic holder, glides off the roll very smoothly and rips at the perforated blade cleanly. My only complaint was when you initially try to start the new roll, it does not pull off the roll cleanly (see photo). But overall, this is a great product, claiming to hold up to 80 pounds, that will work great for shipping items or packing up boxes for storage. 3M/Scotch provided this item for my honest, unbiased opinion.

While it took a minute to start the roll, the tape sealed nicely and stuck! The roll was smooth to disperse and the cutting edge worked well.

Good as regular heavy duty but recycled

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wasn't sure how this could be better than the regular Scotch Heavy Duty Packing tape and I really can't say that it is. But it is just as good as the regular and it's recycled so that makes it better in my book. I used it to tape together a copy paper box that had come unglued and it worked great. I'm sure it will work great for all the other times I want a heavy duty packing tape to fix or seal something.
