Durability and Reliability in the Record-Retention Environment
on August 29, 2013

I’m a senior and run a part-time business dealing with bookkeeping and records management for some small private and not-for-profit organizations. Mead products have been part of my work environment for over 40 years and have consistently proven reliable and an important part of my record retention needs. Using “reinforced tab folders has proven to be the workhorse tool for the long-term sturdy storage of my frequently reviewed documents. Obviously Mead hasn’t let me down and that’s a key to long-time customer loyalty something often overlooked in today’s outsourced-customer-relations environment.

Reinforced tab folders

I make charts for client/patient records and these are the best for us because of the reinforced tab. Somehow it sits higher than other folders so it is easier to see the information on the tab when you're looking in hanging folders. They cost a bit more but nothing else works as well for our needs.

Why Pay More For Name Brands

These folders are perfect for organizing my customers according to their needs. These are just as good as the big name brands without the higher price.

Reduction in Quality

I have used this product for more than 25 years. I was spoiled to the Smead top quality brand and reinforced tabs in the corporate workplace and I loved them so much that I continued to purchase them personally when I entered the non-profit world of no-extras more than a decade ago. When I open a new box I buy the next one. Last summer I opened a new box that was slightly less sturdy than I was used to from Smead. Thinking it was a fluke I purchased the next one. This box is even worse. It's so weak and flimsy it feels like dollar store quality and half the weight Smead used to produce in this product. It's such a waste because for years and years it has been a superior product. I am greatly disappointed and refuse to purchase again unless the company starts meeting its statement "Built stronger to last longer!" That was very true before but not now.

Not exactly what I expected.

I ordered the 3 tab file folders and received the single tab ones. I was very busy with Passover preparations and really didn't have time to worry abut correcting the error. I have purchased your file folders for over 10 years was surprised that the quality had gone down so drastically since my last purchase about 18 months ago. Ruth Merrill

Great for much used files. They won't "dog-ear". Just wish Staples would carry in their stores.
