I planned on printing about 200 pages of plain black text on my Canon inkjet printer so I wanted to find a good 20lb paper to print this on. Therefore I bought a ream of both the "Office Depot Premium Multipurpose Paper" and this "Staples Multipurpose Paper" (both 20lb paper with a 96 brightness rating). I printed a page of 12pt Arial font on both sheets (standard printer settings) and made a close side-by-side comparison. I immediately found the letters on the Staples paper to be "sharper" and they also had a slightly "bolder black" appearance than the Office Depot paper. The OD paper seemed to have a slight appearance of "blurred edges" on all the letters (obviously due to some slight ink bleeding). Perhaps the paper-making process will change for these 2 stores over time but at least for this test on this date the Staples paper was the clear winner over Office Depot. It had a crisper bolder black text on my Canon inkjet printer.
