As far as I can tell this is the same great multipurpose paper as the Staples brand -- it even came in a box with the Staples name and logo. We've been using this paper in our two HP laser printers and our HP inkjet printers for years now and it's always been just fine. We finally used up the last of the supply we bought on a super sale some time ago so when we needed more we went to our local Staples store and bought two boxes. The only drawback is that the 10 ream case seems to weigh a lot more than my 74 year old body remembers. Good thing we've got a small hand truck to get it from the car into the basement.
I guess the paper is the same. I have not needed to use it yet. However I don’t care for the name change to ‘ TRU RED.’ I don’t know the purpose of the change. If I am like others I know the box and I know the name of the paper I use. Giving it a new box and new name added to my shopping time to be sure that I bought the correct paper. It was a waste of my time and I was getting the feeling that I was buying some sort of off-brand paper despite signs saying that you changed your name. I did not see any 96 brightness 8.5x11 paper that was for black and white so I don’t know why this paper says it is “Color Printer Paper.” That was more waste of my time.
