I don't know too many people who still use these as recipe cards but the Staples ruled 3 x 5 inch white index cards could be used for that or for any number of purposes. I've used them for marking prices on items at craft sales made flash cards for my kids (way back when!) and will probably make flashcards for my grandkids. The great price that Staples has on these ruled index cards is awesome too. I know the Staples line of products is one I can count on to be of good quality. The fact that they also have a nice price helps.
So far I have used these index cards as flash cards. I used permanent maker to write information on one side and it did not bleed through to the other side as much as some other brands that I have used. These are very bright and colorful. There are four different colors in each pack.
I teach kindergarten and I use these index cards for a variety of things. I use them for making flash cards vocabulary words with pictures passwords for computer programs and sign out cards when kids borrow materials. I peel and stick labels to the cards. I laminate the cards if I need them to last a few years. Can't go wrong for the price.
