[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first saw the pack of pencils I noticed on top of the pencils was a refill tube holding 5 erasers and 12 leads! This is great now I have an extra eraser for each Bic Velocity pencils and extra leads on top of each one filled ready to use. Hooray! I decided to try them out fits before for son so I took one of the pencils out to write with it. I clicked the top of the pencil and it sounded like a pen clicking so at first I thought oh this one must be a pen and the rest are pencils so I wrote with it and I still swore it was a pen until I used the eraser on the end and all the writing was gone. Then I began to write some more and found out it really is a pencil and it writes so good! The lead didn't snap off or even break as I continued writting with it. The lead wrote smooth, it was dark in color as lead should be when taking standarized tests in class.† Bic Velosity mechanical has a rubber grib around the part you hold so it will be more comfortable than holding a wooden pencil. Mechanical pencils have come a long way since I have used them as a child. :-)† When I gave the pencils to my son he was so excited to use them :-) I am pretty excited too because school is starting here on Monday and I didn't have to buy any pencils yet to send with him. I think if he don't lose them he should be good for awhile. I can't wait to see how long the lead lasts between refils.

Kids and I both love them

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm not too picky with my pencils... if they work and have erasers, I'm set. The kids, on the other hand, are VERY picky. For some reason they always prefer mechanical pencils so they were super excited when I got these in the mail for them. No need to fight over the colors- my girl and boy gladly sorted which ones they wanted. It was very convenient to have the lead and erasers packaged separately. I think it really motivates my kids to practice their writing if they like the tools they're using. A+ from me!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Perfect timing to have the opportunity to sample BIC Velocity Mechanical pencils. School is approaching fast and kids will need school supplies! These pencils are very stylish, sleek, offer many vibrant colors, comfortable to hold with the rubber grip, strong lead that doesn't break when you write. I love these! My 2nd grader was so excited to try the pencils as well. He was so happy to have a pencil that was comfortable to write with and didn't hurt his fingers. He loved all the fluorescent colors! He also thought it was COOL that he didn't have to sharpen his pencil. My older son is in high school and was SUPER thrilled with them as well. He has to take a lot of notes in school and has always complained about his hand getting sore from all the writing. He appreciated that the new BIC velocity mechanical pencils are so comfortable with the rubberish padding and COOL looking!! We will definitely be buying alot of these pencils! Of course, my kids are always sharing there pencils with everyone in class, so I know they will be spreading the joy of these pencils! I better stock up now, before our local store runs out!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids are really excited to go back to school with the new Velocity Mechanical Pencils. The colors are very hip and in-style. I was extremely surprised that the pencils came with refill lead.. and also erasers. I've done some pricing and the price for these pencils are a bit high. I'm hoping they last longer and work better then most mechanical pencils, otherwise I will not invest more money into purchasing them on a regular basis.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love these pencils. I tend to bear down when writing and break lead easily. These pencils are strong and durable which will be helpful when my six and ten year old kids are doing their homework and drawing. The lead is smooth with no breaks in the lines. The colors are great without being obnoxious. The grip is comfortable and just the right amount of squishy. The eraser has a little cap on it which is a nice touch and the BIC Velocity set comes with extra lead and erasers. I am very pleased with the overall feel of these pencils. They feel like quality, not cheap plastic.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Honestly when I opened up my box I thought that they were pens. When you do a fast glance it really looks like a pen. I think that this mechanical pencil is different from the other one for these reasons. When you hold it next to a old school bic mechanical pencil . The BicVelocity looks a lot sexier. Rubbing my fingers up and down on it it feels like it has curves, or more of a hour glass shape to it, vs the thin straight up and down of the old school mechanical pencil. So starting from the top I see that the eraser now has a plastic cap on it to keep the eraser clean. Awesome, nice touch. just like the old school one it does have a clip so you can clip it to your pocket or what ever. The main shaft is a lot wider which is great because it feels better when I hold it in my hand. With the old school ones I felt like I had to pay more attention to how tight my fingers where around the pencil. The finger grip part is nice. It looks like it is going to be super hard , but it has some give to it. So you are able to write/drawl a lot longer. The old mechanical pencils just hard plastic. Had to put them down every 10 minutes. The retractable point. This is a cool little thing to have because the whole metal part and the point go back in . vs. just the lead that went in with the old bic mechanical pencils .. Now onto the writing/drawling with this pencil. I love to write in cursive with this. What a difference on smoothness there is compared to the old mechanical pencils . Doesn't take long to make your art work look perfect cause the way the lead it . you can make it dark or light. Fill small spaced or big spaces in now time. I'm getting more of these for my kids to start school with
