Best Mexhanical Pencil I have Ever Used

I write pre-sentence reports on defendants and part of this job requires me to interview defendants in jail. I always write in pencil when I interview people because I need to be able to erase or correct information and writing in pencil helps me differentiate their writing from mine. Today I had to interview three people, which meant three hours of writing and I thought omg perfect time to test out this new product from BIC. All I can say is wow. I have NEVER used a mechanical pencil that did not break(well the lead) on me. Bic velocity pencils did not break at all on me. They didn't leave red marks on my fingers and erased extremely well. I was extremely impressed. Any pencil that I can use continuously, for three hours, is a hit in my book. And so far in two years BIC Velocity is the only mechanical pencil to not disappoint me. I fully intend to purchase more.

They write so smoothly, it's like it just flows on the paper. The lead is the perfect dark color, easily noticeable. The bright colors of the pencils really draw your attention to them, and make them a lot of fun.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids just started school this week and have already given their BICÆ VelocityÆ mechanical pencils a thorough workout between drawing, worksheets and general note taking. The girls are thrilled with the bright colors and LOVE that there are grips. They kept forgetting they had eraser caps, however, so those had to be removed (I like it myself--it keeps the eraser from getting all gritty in my purse). My youngest (9 y/o) likes that her lead doesn't break every time she tries to write or tear her paper--which was a major issue for her last year with another brand pencil and their 0.7 mm lead. Overall, we are impressed with the quality of these pencils. They may be a little pricier, but sometimes you just have to spend a little extra for quality.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've been using the BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils for a couple weeks now and we love them!! They are super smooth and not flimsy like the old-school pencils I used in my generation. There's no long flimsy graphite snapping off every few sentences... click... click... click to reload for a few more sentences. Smooth writing also makes this awesome! Not the 'nails on a chalkboard' scraping happening here... and the grip is enlarged and comfortable. It's about as close to writing with a smooth pen as you are going to get with a pencil. Thanks BIC for getting this one right!!
