Cute pencils!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Being a college student myself and two kids in school this was the perfect product for us to try. i hate writing with pens but typically in college i have to but whatever I can get away with i only use pencils and typically go through alot of them and i will admit i am not a a big fan of mechanical pencils because i always felt like they were a waste of money having to buy lead a lot espcially when it comes to my children because they always break. the lead seems to be very thin and breaks quickly. although my daughter loves them. after getting the product for some reason the packaging immediately caught my eye I just liked the colors of the product and the way the extra lead and erasers were visible to the eye ! once i opened and actually touched the pencil I Liked the size of it and the feel most mechanical pencils are very flimsy and you know it's not gonna last long but this one was different . i loved the the coors and the lead was tick and very vibrant the eraser was wonder using the eraser you could not even see there was any mistake before. I love this product and have a different opinion about buying and using mechanical pencils but not all of them. the kids love them and being kids they like the option or be able to use a color of the same color shirt or shoes they are wearing that day! i will be buying this product knowing B.I.C is typical the only pens I buy i know i have a reliable,durable and affordable mechanical pencil!!! THANK YOU

Smooth writing when it is needed most!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a middle school teacher at the beginning of a school year, I write with pencils more than I can explain....student information, classroom information, lesson information, etc. It is great to find a pencil that I can continually write with and not have to worry about repeated breaking or rough writing. The BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils write smoothly and erase cleanly when I need them to. It was difficult to give a few of them up when both of my children begged to have some to start the school year off with because they both loved writing with them, too!! These are really fantastic pencils that I am hoarding in my desk and not allowing anyone to borrow just in case they try to walk off with them! ;-}

Not a mechanical pencil person

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't normally use a mechanical pencil but was excited to try these. I was hoping they would be different than the ones I have tried before. However, they were the same except for one difference. The erase was fantastic. The bright colors were appealing, but I do not like the way it writes. The point is too sharp resulting in broken lead or ripped paper. I found that in order to prevent this, I would have to write more on an angle, which was not comfortable to me. I also found that the lead would easily retract. It did not matter if I had a new piece of lead or not, it did this. I will stick with traditional pencils.

Great Mechanical Pencils for Kids & Adults

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would count as one of those pencil fanatics. I have been using the same mechanical pencils for more than 15 years. I haven't switched because I couldn't find another mechanical pencil that felt comfortable and wrote the same. I have finally found the replacement. The BiC Velocity Mechanical Pencils feel good and write smoothly. The colors add a lot more flair than my old black mechanical pencil.
My 11 year old daughter tried the BiC Velocity Mechanical Pencils and immediately wanted to add them to her back to school supply list. She liked how they looked, felt and wrote. But what was most important to her was that they are strong and she won't have to worry about breaking lead while she's working at school. The pencil will always be sharp!
When we shopped for additional BiC Velocity Mechanical Pencils, I was surprised to find that they were also priced similarly to other mechanical pencils. We were going to buy them anyway, but the fact that they aren't quite a bit more expensive than others should really seal the deal!

Darker than the original

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I got these I thought they would be like every other mechanical pencil. I tried them out and noticed that they were very smooth and much darker than other mechanical pencils I've tried.
