Not so great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I usually have my kids practice school skills over the summer so I was really excited to be able to introduce them to these BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils. We got off to a good start, my son thought they were comfortable to hold (he really liked the rubber grip) and it was easy to advance the lead. Unfortunately it was a really hard lead and when my son would press down on the page to write he would rip and tear the paper. This happened repeatedly, despite my encouraging him not to press so hard. These won't work for school work, he'd destroy all the papers! Sorry BIC, these don't work for my 10 year old son.

The Best Pencil Out There!

They have changed the grip on the pencils, the grips used to be rounder, more easily gripped and the grips now seem to be more curvy.... Regardless, I love the .09 lead, and the covered eraser. The package came with refill lead and erasers.

We had the perfect solution already. The Bic Velocity pencils. Usually by now my kiddo is asking for new pencils and fumbling around for the sharpener because she can't find it or it gets spilled on the carpet making a huge mess. Not this year! She is loving the pencils. Especially since they come with extra lead.

I was not sure that there could be a better mechanical pencil than the standard BIC pencil, but BIC Velocity has certainly changed my mind.

The second thing I noticed was that they have an eraser. Yes, finally! The Bic Velocity pencils also come with replacement lead and replacement erasers! I have not typically found a mechanical pencil that comes with both replacement lead and erasers until now. The pencils are great for writing and artwork. My husband is an artist so I asked it to try them out. He was really impressed, He said pencil gives you a smooth and fluid motion it does not drag at all. These pencils would be a great addition to an artists tools who enjoy sketching or drawing.

The smooth, dark lead marks that are surprisingly easy to erase, the fluid motion of the pencil led. What's not to love?! All of my children ages 3, 6, and 12 love these new pencils! And the package came in a variety of colors so there was one for everyone to enjoy! Bic Velocity is now my go to brand and the are worth every penny!
