[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With so many choices on the market, I think that the Bic Velocity Mechanical Pencil should be a top pick. My middle school aged daughter was very excited to use these to start off the new school year. She loved the bright colors and said they write well and she liked that the pencil lead doesn't break off when writing, like some other brands do. They write smooth and nice and I noticed that her handwriting is significantly better when using these pencils compared to a standard pencil. They are always sharp and ready to go. They have a comfortable grip, which helps when having to write all day at school. We will buy these again.

In general I stay away from Mechanical pencils as they seem cheap and break easily. So far this has not been the case. I have used them and my 12 year old daughter takes them to school.

I feel like I use a lot of pencils at work, and I was looking forward to trying a higher-quality mechanical pencil. I typically prefer traditional wood pencils, but these pencils are great! I've been using mine for about a mouth, and the lead still hasn't run out. The lead also never snaps, which is the main reason I dislike cheaper mechanical pencils. They write really smooth and look dark, much better than other mechanical pencils I've used in the past. The eraser is also of good quality, it doesn't leave smudges on the paper. They're too nice to hand out to students, but I will definitely use them and keep them for myself! Kids who are responsible with their supplies will also really like these. I think the value is very good for the quality, especially since there is extra lead in the package. Definitely a nice option for back to school.

I have a plannervous I write in multiple times a day and I usually just use a basic mechanical pencils because I prefer mechanical pencils. The Bic velocity pencils have made the mechanical pencils better! The grip is soft and truly amazing. Rarely did the lead breaks and it glides so well! The best part is it comes with extra erasers!! I absolutely love these and will buy them in the future!
