I've not put a book in it yet but looks like it would be fine. I got it rather than just a "tablet holder" since I prefer to read my newspaper in a vertical format. Plus it should do all sorts of things--magazines artwork jigsaw puzzle box covers.....
I am very pleased with my booklift copyholder. It is just what I had hoped it would be. The prongs at the base hold a book open for easy readability. It is also able to be flattened and fitted into a looseleaf for portability. My only wish as I have used it is that it could be a little taller.

I use the product for presenting my program using a 3 ring notebook. It fits in my notebook along with my program stands strong on a table to flip pages and looks good while doing it. Works better than an easel for me.

So far it works very well for my purposes. I can use it to prop up my music books when I'm practicing my uke. I can also use it to prop up notebooks and documents when I'm transcribing text. It is light and portable enough that I could take it everywhere I go.
