The drawers open so smooth 4 large drawers I put 6 drawers of (smaller) file drawers into this 4 drawer file cabinet. I also like that it came in gray.

I purchased this file cabinet about a year ago. I needed one more so I wanted them to match. When the second one was delivered today it’s nowhere near the quality or look of the original one despite the price increasing. The photos still show the original steel design with sturdy drawer slides and interior drawer sides to support hanging files. They’re nice and thick and do not budge. The new version is a very flimsy thin aluminum that wobbles even without a single hanging file. Next the drawers no longer have the small silver slide to the left of the handles to click each drawer into position even when the cabinet isn’t locked with a key. Aside from just looking nicer this is a much sturdier and safer design. Now there’s nothing keeping any of the drawers in place. If it’s slightly tilted for any reason all four drawers slide out. The whole lock and key design is different too with the new version being a small partly plastic key. Next there is no metal divider between each drawer like in the original version and pictured on the website. The front is just the four drawers nothing in between. Finally the color is now darker. It’s not a big quality issue like all the other changes but if you are buying this file cabinet to match one you already have like I was they will not be the same color. Now for the return I have to get this 150 pound file cabinet back into the packaging somehow. Then I have to wait for them to send me an email the day before they come for the pickup. AND I have to be here from 9-5 for the return pickup. It wasn’t a problem for them to deliver it and leave it at the front of my home when I wasn’t home. Not sure why I can’t just leave it outside rather than be home on a full weekday. I won’t purchase anything from staples that’s too big to fit in my car for a return again. Incredibly frustrated with this whole experience. In the photos the first two are the newest version showing the front of the drawers and interior drawer sides. The last two photos are the one I purchased before the change. This is what the file cabinet on the website still looks like. The quality is nowhere near the original. Cheap and flimsy.

They showed up one was damaged but was replaced ASAP. Cabinets are great quality and open/close easily. I really enjoy the color I dislike the dirty white color as I call it and black is just to dark for the room. Look like they will last a long time. Would recommend especially if they are on sale.

Great functional lockable file cabinet for my home office. First delivery was cancelled by the Staples company driver himself as he noted it was damaged in the box. He came back two days later with a well protected and unblemished file cabinet brought it into the house and helped me set it up. Had me examine it to make sure all worked perfectly which it did. He did a great job and well represented the company.
