Since I purchased this I have had no problems with it. I dont use it daily and havent had it for very long (1 month) so I cannot really comment on its long term durability but I can say that everything functions as it should so far. One thing I can say is that the extra space that you get from the 26 1/2 inch depth cabinet (as opposed to an 18 1/2 inch depth file cabinet)really makes a HUGE difference in how much you can file away.

Ball bearing drawer slides well worth it

I recently purchased this to match a similar Staples cabinet (in black) which I have owned for probably 8 or 10 years. These are used for frequent home use mounted on a file caddy item # 805671 (which rolls smoothly with full load) . The most important feature is that the drawer moves smoothly with full load and do this consistently. The ball bearing sildes do just that and very well. For frequent in/out use (like I do) and long term durability the ball bearing slides are well worth the money. I cannot tell any difference in "feel" between my new file cabinet and the older one. To stay organized "putting away" has to be easy which this cabinet makes that possible. I neither hesitate to get out just one item nor even have to struggle. The fit and finish are fine as well. Except that the newer cabinet is 26.5" vs old cabinet 25" they look identical. If you are price conscious check out the drawer operation and you will see the difference.

I like the high sides to the drawers. It's a much better way to hang files than having to set up a separate frame inside the drawers.

Filing Cabinet

This is a great filing cabinet but I gave it four starts due to shipping problems. It took three shiopments to get one I can live with. All had a very large noticable dent in them. The first two had the dent in the front so I had to return them. The third had the dent in the back. The gave me a percentage off so I just kept it. I would not have paid full price for a dented filing cabinet. The third one seems very sturdy and is loaded and drawers are working with no problems.
