Good Deal

Needed an economical small file cabinet for my business. This one was the best deal I could find with all the features I needed locking drawers full suspension drawer slides and full length drawers. You can spend a lot more and not get anything extra.
The innovative file backing frames took a bit to figure out but are more certain than the old system. I also oiled the locking mechanisms on the file doors to be sure they will continue to work smoothly. Otherwise all is fine.

We bought these recently to support a door slab for a desk and they were perfect for the job - attractive sturdy and well-made. The only improvement would be if they came in great colors!

Solid file cabinet. Drawers fully

Solid file cabinet. Drawers fully extend. Smooth rolling action. Lock feel secure enough - not 'Fort Knox' but not 'suitcase luggage' either - but locks are really just to keep the honest people honest. Shipping was quick and the unit arrive undamaged - very robust packaging. There is a space in the very front of the drawers where a file might 'fall' into but the file would have to be very thin and even then it doesn't fall down - just gets stuck in the front. I also had to hit the thumb catches of the draw with a little of WD-40's 'dry lubricant' version (the stuff for tools and tool steel) because their movement was kind of stiff and noisy. They now operate very smoothly and quietly. Neither of these point are really worth knocking a star off for.
I was hesitant to order after reading the reviews. Ten years ago I bought a large filing cabinet from Staples and delivery and service was great. This time not so much. The cabinet arrived with a dent in the side which I could have lived with. It was the sharp bent damaged pieces of metal with missing paint in two places that ruined it. The filing cabinet was well packaged so this clearly happened before it was packaged and left the warehouse. Unacceptable. The inconvenience and hassle of trying to repack the packing around an oversized item makes a return all the more aggravating.
