The metal is of poor quality and if you put wheels on the bottom the metal is so thin it bends once the draws are filled the cabinet falls over.

22 inch file cabinet

This file cabinet is about the only one that is available in 22 inch depth and that is the primary reason I bought it. This helps out in my particular office set-up. You can use a 24 inch wide top on two file cabinets and you have a quick desk or work surface. I also like that it has a file "traveler" so it allows for non-hanging folders as well as accomodating hanging folders. The cabinet is not as sturdy as others I have looked at although it is less expensive. One of the cabinets came dented in the back from a shipping/handling error.

Cheaply Made

First time I ordered it it had a huge crushed dent at the bottom back right corner. The second time it had several dings one of which was quite noticeable on the front. The cabinet was made of cheap aluminum. I cancelled the order because I was afraid that even if I had gotten an undamaged item it would not take long for it to be damaged as it was so cheaply made. I was looking for more of a heavy duty metal that would be durable. As well I was not impressed by the way the draws rolled in or out. It should be zero stars but it would not let me do that - how ironic!

I bought this for my home office and am very happy with it. It's not flimsy like many file cabinets and the price was excellent for what you get. The drawers open and close easily and are sturdy enough for my needs.
