File Cabinet

I had an old file cabinet... the drawers stuck and the cabinet would tip if you opened the top drawer at the same time as the bottom or even by itself. This model is perfect without being too heavy for my husband to carry it into the house by himself. It holds exactly what I need for working out of my home and our personal files. The hanging files hang perfectly and move well within the drawers. The buttons you need to push to open the drawers are easy to push which is important to me as I have arthritis in my hands. It was a great Christmas gift!!

I bought two of the two drawer cabinets on line and Staples guaranteed free next day shipping which I had to see to believe. But just as promised the truck showed up the next morning and delivered two sturdy cartons. The cabinets were protected very well with heavy cardboard and foam board and reinforced at the top and bottom. They survived truck delivery and me moving them from our garage to the second floor with an appliance hand truck. When I got them to their location I turned each box upside down and opened from the bottom so I could apply heavy duty felt furniture pads on each corner to protect our hardwood floors. Then I turned the box's upright and lifted off all packaging. There was no damage at all to the cabinets which were well finished. The drawers extend fully with no binding and have built-in rails for hanging folders. Two keys are included with each cabinet and both drawers are controlled with a single lock. If you need it hardware is also included for attaching the back to a wall to prevent tipping. A number of reviewers seem to complain about the adjustable wire folder separator which I found to be sturdy and effective. The cabinets are well built for this price point reinforced and welded at key stress points. I plan to place the cabinets side by side and have a piece if 1/4 inch glass cut to place on the top with thin felt pad spacers between glass and cabinet surface which will give my wife a nice flat surface for use as a layout or drawing table in her office. Overall I'm very pleased with the Staples cabinets and grateful for their free next day delivery. Highly recommended.

Lightweight & easy to move. smooth gliding drawers with no hanging insert needed. my only recommendation is being able to lock one drawer while the other is still operational
