They are strong and do not break down with lots of use. The paper used to make them has a nice finish. They are worth the few cent more. I just with they had them with bards holders in front and back.
This newer version of the Staples brand "heavyweight" file folder is just not the same as what got all the previous 5-star reviews. They are so much thinner than the prior version which appears to have been phased out last year. Definitely not worth paying almost twice as much for!!! Now I have to look elsewhere for true heavyweight file folders
These folders were previously boxed as Tru Red Heavyweight File Folders. Staples now boxes them under their own label and the folders are not heavyweight at all. Old files were heavier and had a smooth finish. If this is what Staples calls "heavyweight" the regular file folders must be tissue paper! Don't waste the money. Really disappointed with Staples.
Yes it is a bit thicker but the old stuff (#744100 w/ an almost purple box and yellow strip down the left side) was tuff-rigid manila with a slick finish. This new stuff is like toilet paper. I'll be returning them.
