Yes it is a bit thicker but the old stuff (#744100 w/ an almost purple box and yellow strip down the left side) was tuff-rigid manila with a slick finish. This new stuff is like toilet paper. I'll be returning them.

A good complement to this product are the tab labels. That way you can reuse the folders once you no longer need the papers you filed in it.

these are like the perfect file folder. heavyweight not only holds a ton of papers but you can reuse it over and over again. great for the wallet and great for the world.

Nice and thick... If you handle your files a lot these are so much more sturdy than the standard ones. If you're just going to toss the in a box there is no need to spend the extra $. I only buy these now because the other ones seem so floppy in comparison.
