I've had three of these on a tape spool that have slivered/split off while in use no fault of the user. I've kept these in the box in an office closet until using so it's not because of air or sunlight or dryness. Cheap tape.

This is ok oridinary tape. It's not great. I only order this one because it is on contract and I have to otherwise I would choose another brand.

It's cheap tape and when it breaks it is near to impossible to scrape the end off the roll to put back in my dispenser. Go with Scotchtape
