Lightweight but sturdy. Not flimsy or wobbly. The lip is large enough to hold a stack of papers. I often use it to prop my clipboard with no problem. There isn't a slider to keep your place but I just use a magnetic strip when needed. It has a fairly large footprint. It doesn't fold so it isn't stored easily when not in use. Overall I'm happy with this purchase.
