Awesome product, but only when it doesn't fall off

I have several of these Command Hooks in my home. They look great and are quite useful for staying organized. I love that I can rearrange on occasion and move for painting as well. I'm quite disappointed though that some keep falling down, even with a much lower weight threshold than stated on the product. It's hard to trust them with breakables. I've wasted a lot of money buying replacement strips. I have had better success with lower weight hooks than the 3 and 5 pound. I use the heavier ones for empty purses (one per hook), bath towel and robe. They randomly fall off the wall. The last one actually ripped into the drywall. It was a 5# hook on painted wall.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Need plastic replacement that mates to strip

I've used this hook for years but yesterday the plastic piece in which the hook connects to, broke. Is a replacement available or should I just replace the whole hook assembly? It seems a shame to do so.

Another Idea

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our new house with plastered walls and beautiful oak trim on the windows called for 'another idea' for hanging curtain rods. We placed one large brushed nickel metal hook above and beyond the oak trim directly on the plastered wall and rested a round expansion rod in the elbow of the hook. It gives the optical illusion of a larger window, saves both the wood and plaster from holes being made for traditional rods and enabled us to use longer curtains. Worked like a charm!

Replacement part

I brought this about 3 hrs ago to hang towels and bath robes in my bathroom but the book came down and it seems that the plastic part that the hook slides on and hold the hook to the wall broke and haven't found a replacement. The hook its self is still okay and now I can't use it so it's a waste
I would recommend this to a friend!

command large metal hook

I purchased the large metal hook for my daughter's room, as I wanted to hang a few of her empty (yes empty) handbags on it. These bags (3) were not large, and were not equal to 5 pounds. My husband followed the directions, everything looked great. A few days later, not only did the handbags and hook fall off the wall, but it also took off the paint. So, assuming we did something wrong, we followed the procedure again. Once again, after a few days, same thing happened. Needless to say, I will not use this product again. Now the wall has to be patched and painted. So much for this supposedly great product.

Sadly failed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This hook held up for several months. Then without warning, it fell off the wall taking paint & some drywall with it!
I've used other Command hooks without issue.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Large Damage-Free Hook
