Its pleasant looking wood. The first line of the start of the inch is 1/8" from the edge on both ends of the stick so using the full stick to measure a quick yard will always require minusing 1/4". It would me nice if centimeters were on the flipside instead of a repeat of 16th's.
Although the size (length) was adequate it was a slat of cheap pine(?) with print. Probably cost less than .50 to produce and is worth no more than $1 00. Needed it at the moment otherwise would never buy it.
It would have been nice if one side counted up 1" to 36" and the other side counted down 36" to 1". Oh well... I guess I have to read upside down!

Staples Yardstick

Nice yardstick but specifications include incorrect information. Thickness is .125 inch not .25 inch. This was significant to my purchase decision but I was skeptical. Not surprised alas and not worth returning but disappointed nonetheless. The yardstick appears well made and is straight and nicely finished but thinner than I had hoped. :-(
Probably great for measuring but not for holding things up

Verified Purchase:Yes
I bought two so I can use them as legs to stand up one of my projects. Not successful. One snapped from pressure. But at least I have two yardsticks now. Imagine the possibilities.
I knew exactly what I was looking for and didnt feel like hunting for it in the isles so just searched yard stick click paid and picked it up. Easy quick and painless! Exactly what I was looking for!
