This Shredder is replacing my previous Fellows shredder that I had over 15 years. Granted it was for home use but could not believe how long it lasted. Hoping to have this new one for just as long.

This shredder is great! Much better than the one I replaced it with, shreds effortlessly! Used it for 3 hours continuously and it never overheated and never jammed.
Pros: Jam Resistance, Quiet Operation, Secure Cut Size, Sheet Capacity

This is my third Fellowes i think the last ones was 15 years old. Very reliable and easy to use. Oil once in a while and will last a long time.
Pros: Quality Construction, Quiet Operation, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Warranty

Working well...so far!

Just got my shredder yesterday to replace another brand shredder. Chose Fellowes because of their credibility in the business sector. I am retired now but used their products previously. So far I shredded about 200 pieces of paper. It took about 10-15 minutes give or take.. I was hesitant to try doing 12 pages at a time because when I did 8 pages it started to kind of drag and I didn't want to chance getting it jammed. Fingers crossed and hoping that it will last. The actual shredder is VERY substantial but the cabinet that houses the shredded paper could be a little more substantial...maybe a little thicker plastic?
Pros: Mess Reduction, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size, Service Guarantee, Sheet Capacity, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, heavy duty motor
Cons: cabinet could be more substantial.

Noisy and Slow

Many reviews say the machine is quiet. But mine is noisy. Seems to be an adequate shredder for home use. I wouldn't recommend it for a business. Get what you pay for. Seems to be a good value for the money if on sale. The pull out bin is a bit flimsy, buy not too bad. I've seen worse. Security is P-4, according to the online product page, but nothing in the packaging confirms that. It can easily shred several pages. I think 12 pages would be pushing it. Shredding is a bit slow. If you just have normal shredding for home use, this machine is fine. For a busy office/business would be best to get a heavy duty shredder. Design is nice. Basic black, modern. The 5-gallon bin is adequate for home use. I'll update if I have any issues, such as paper jamming.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, retiree777! We are sorry you are less than pleased with your 12C shredder! We can confirm that the security rating is indeed P-4. In addition, the unit is designed to shred up to 12 sheets of 20# paper so if the unit is acting a bit sluggish, we recommend oiling the blades as instructed in the manual. If not oiled, a machine may experience diminished sheet capacity, intrusive noise when shredding and could ultimately stop running. We recommend you oil your shredder each time you empty your waste bin. We hope this helps, but if you have any questions or concerns, please give customer service a call. We are here to help you!
