Not Worth the Money

As a home based Sales Rep I do quite a bit of printing of product material and sales related aids each week. I was steered toward this paper by a Staples employee as a less expensive alternative to the name brands costing more. Weird thing is this Staples brand paper wasn't THAT much cheaper! It has a nice brightness and feel no excess fibers to clog up the printer...but the kicker was that when printing color documents the paper curled from the ink absorption. NO GOOD! That was it for me I have relegated this paper to e-mail copying and scrape paper duty only. Spend more and get the right paper to do the job. If all you do is light B&W printing this is perfect...color printing? look elsewhere.

erratic paper weight & bad box condition

I have not ordered this exact size; however I have ordered this 50% recycled in ledger size. The paper weight is terribly erratic even between reams in the same box. I have had cases with onea ream that does look like 24 lb. with a fairly smooth finish and the very next ream pulled out is barely 20 lb. with a rough cheap finish and significant bleed through. Depending on what you are printing this may or may not be a big issue to you. It was for us. Judging by the condition of every case of paper I have ever ordered from here this may be a 'repack' item. The boxes literally look like they are taken out of a box crusher and taped back together - broken glue seams torn-apart corners and layers upon layers of tape. The reams inside are also almost all split open even though they're plastic wrappers. It's like when you're in a hurry and you pick up a ream by the end and it flexes and rips the wrapper down one side or a corner. If it only happened once in a while I'd put it down to the shipping co. and rough handling but it has been every single case of paper ordered from here for the past 3 yrs. regardless of brand size etc.

Great paper - poor packaging

All the reams in the box were busted open in their individually wrapped sets due to the excessive weight of the box and the handling by UPS/USPS/FedEx (forgot which carrier it was) - edges on most of the reams on one side of the box were compromised too. Not likely to order 10 reams again.

This is required by the post office for our bulletins we mail every month. Staples is the only one that has the 8 1/2 X 14 24 lb paper and it is delivered right to my door. What more could I ask for.
