The unit is a replacement for another Staples shredder I had for five years. I was informed this new unit was comparable to the old one; however I feel it does not measure up. It has a smaller capacity container for shredded paper and the unit is much more top-heavy. When I go to move it it tips over if the smaller caster wheels do not work properly on the carpeted rug. The old unit had a better center of gravity and would NOT tip over when moved.

The shredder works well and is quiet. I effortlessly shredded credit cards CDs and documents. I do wish however that the opening to insert the paper was slightly longer and a bit wider. With the narrow smaller opening (compared to the previous Royal shredder I bought at Radio Shack and used for over 20 years feeding the documents was a bit more difficult than my previous one. Otherwise the shredder works well and is very quiet.
