Our TruRed shredder went out and also had been discontinued the warranty folks sent us the Staples version. Doesn't cut quite as smoothly as our last though it is relatively quiet has a neat sliding cover that also turns the machine off when shut. Seems to handle paper and staples well enough. Capacity is slightly less than our previous so we're more frequently emptying it though also taking up less space. Also there is an irritating tone that screeches on whenever the bin is full (which I do not appreciate.) Aside from that it performs well enough for my office.

This unit replaced a 14 year old Staples shredder with similar capability that finally broke. It is much quieter than the previous unit but the bag placement inside the unit is much more difficult due to a design that now integrates the bag holder with the front of the unit instead of having a door that opens to reveal a free standing basket that easily holds the plastic bag on all four sides. The new design anchors the bag in two spots at the front and it is more difficult to put the basket back inside the shredder so it turns back on. The new design does use less plastic but I am not sure how durable this will be in the long run.

I purchased this shredder to upgrade my existing shredder in my office. This purchase was anything but an upgrade...and definitely misleading marketing on the box.. the 150 auto shredding sheet can not be stapled together all have to be perfectly flat and together like fresh out of a ream of paper it shreds 1 and only one page at a time very slowly thru the auto 150 page shredder. I did not put more than 30 pages in and it could not handle that with out issues I had to stand with the machine and help it when it got stuck. There is a slot for multiple pages to shred at a time but it only shreds a maximum of 12 sheets at time. It jammed a lot was extremely slow. I never post a review.. it was that bad!!!
