I bought this to replace a larger model. I like that it is significantly smaller and I don't need to lift the motor out to empty the bin...the bin slides out with the motor remaining in place. That was a huge selling feature for me as it was heavy and awkward. I was also pleasantly surprised that the cover slides closed ... eliminating the ugly blades and making it safer when the Grands are around. I am exceptionally pleased with the features and it is also quieter and does the job! Highly recommend if you are not shredding too many every day.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall this shredder has been very efficient at what it's supposed to do - shred. It's much heavier than I expected. I anticipate it won't tip over like my much lighter (and older) unit would if it was bumped. It's as much more quiet than I expected. I used this to shred packing paper from the boxes that arrive so I can add it to my compost and it did wonderfully! It ran for close to 10 minutes and didn't feel the least bit warm to the touch. I did have to manually hold down the advance button a few times to keep the feed going. I don't anticipate I'll have as large of a batch next time. I appreciate there cover that closes to hide the insertion feed. Since this is going to see primarily home office and personal use it a bonus that little fingers won't get caught as easily.
First day it already quit working. It will run when turned on, but half way through the first page the red temperature light comes on and shuts it down.
