I've been using this Staple brand shredder for a while now and I have to say it's been a solid investment for my home office. The micro-cut feature is what sold me. It turns my sensitive documents into tiny little confetti which gives me a lot of peace of mind knowing my information is truly unreadable. I've even shredded old credit cards and CDs with it and it handles them without a hitch. It's a real workhorse for getting rid of all sorts of confidential stuff. One of the things I really appreciate about this shredder is how quiet it is. I can be on a call or have someone else in the room and it doesn't create a huge distraction. It's a noticeable improvement over other shredders I've used in the past. It also handles a good stack of paper at once which saves me a lot of time when I'm clearing out old files. I did notice it's a bit heavier than my old shredder but that just tells me it's built to last. I haven't had any issues with jams and the safety features like the temperature indicator are a nice touch making me feel confident it won't overheat. While I've heard some people have had issues with durability mine has been performing flawlessly and I'm happy with its speed and effectiveness for my needs.
Having the task of shredding multiple containers of long out-of-date paperwork I found the Staples 12 Sheet Shredder was up to the task of cross shredding my entire project without fail.
