These are a little bolder than the Pilot G2 0.38mm pens but they write great. They are smooth and don't drag or skip. I do a lot of writing and would put these close to the top of my "favorite pen" list. Just wish they came in blue

I usually use the .5 mm tru red pens and if there is difference it is barely noticeable. I prefer the .38 because the pen tip is very skinny which is nice for seeing your letters while writing. And it looks nice. The pen writes smoothly.
