Useless-not sticky at all

I have used the regular command hooks for years with no problems ever. I just purchased the clear version yesterday. When I went to install them, they were all dried. As I started to peel the side that attaches to the wall, the front sticker fell off in my hand! They are not even tacky. I put it against the wall and it just fell off. This has never happened with the original hooks.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

nice product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used these hooks in two places-the bathroom and the office. In the bathroom, i used it to hang a hair drying towel and in the office, a calendar. In both rooms, on different surfaces, they were easy to attach. I thought they wouldn't hold any weight even tho it says they do, but i was pleasantly surprised they did. Then for fun, i removed the hook with the towel just to see if that was easy as well. I had a little bit of a hard time at first, but then it came off clean. They key is the initial placement of the hook on the tape. It must be precise in order to remove easily.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Ruined furniture

I bought this item to help with my Christmas decorating, specifically to hold my garland up along my electric fireplace unit. In the past I had used packing tape, but decided to get a little more sophisticated this year. The product actually worked great for the intended purpose, however, upon removal, the adhesive ripped chunks of the finish off my fireplace unit. I now have a ruined $600 fireplace unit that looks like garbage with large chunks of the finish missing in multiple places... guess I should have stuck with the tape (it left residue, but at least it didn't ruin my furniture!). This is unable to be fixed as it is a finish over the material the fireplace is made of, not just simply painted wood.
It should be noted that I followed the installation instructions to the letter as I was afraid these hooks may not be able to hold the weight of the garland.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Command Small Wire Hooks are a girls best friend. They offer no show organization. They can be positioned and repositioned without damage to any surface. They require no tools or assistance from your otherhalf. They stick anywhere and everywhere. Getting the most space out of a small house has been a challenge for me. Not wanting to damage the renovations has been another. These hooks are the answer. My spouse remarked that he has never seen anyone make the most out of every nook and cranny, like I do. Command is the answer to doing just that!

I purchased the clear utensil hooks thinking they'd work just as well as the white ones, but less noticeable. Instead, I was disappointed with my purchase because the hook by itself wouldn't even stick on the wall in the exact same place the white one had been sticking for the past year.

Thank you for posting your comments. The Command™ Clear Hooks you used this year are indeed different than our Command™ General Purpose Hooks. The clear hooks come with a clear thin strip that has to be used on completely smooth surfaces, the general purpose hooks have a foam strip which allows for the strip to stick to surfaces that has a bit of texture to them. We certainly would not expect the product to not adhere to the surface. Please know we will be contacting you directly to offer further assistance to a solution or even a replacement product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally, 3M has clear hooks & backings, love this product! I use them all over my kitchen inside my cabinets for my many utensils - perfect! And they work great in the bathroom too! I use them inside my medicine cabinet to organize hair bands, scissors, and anything else I can hang up and get out of the way... love these!
