These markers work just like the large permanent black chisel tip sharpie markers. Actually I think these Staples Duramark Black Chisel Tip Permanent Markers work better. They definitely last longer than other brands of black chisel tip permanent markers. But when they are brand new the black is so dark that the ink does bleed through to the other side of a piece of copy style paper. It will also bleed through to the other side of a coloring book page and colored construction paper.
