Pulled ceiling paint off with tape removal

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Throughout all the painting jobs in my house I have never used painters tape as I have a pretty steady hand and didn't see the need for it. I used some on one painting project and liked the incredibly straight line it produced. I purchased this product for a kitchen remodel we just undertook and used it throughout the kitchen, dining room, and as of today hallway & stairs. I am so disappointed in it, I will not recommend this product to anyone! I painted the kitchen and dining room about a month ago and used the tape for between the walls & ceiling; when I removed the tape within about 48 hours, a few sections of the ceiling paint removed with the tape. Thinking maybe I had waited too long last time I purchased a new roll and attempted it again on a hallway with stairs project. I placed the tape between the wall and ceiling this morning and then followed with the first coat of paint. The second coat of paint was laid this afternoon, and then this evening I removed the tape. While the line between the wall and ceiling looks great, I literally have sections of my ceiling paint down to the drywall paper that removed with the tape!
I don't expect 3M to do anything about this nor am I seeking any compensation for this issue, but I do want others to know that this product sticks TOO well and will damage the wall/ceiling by removing the paint underneath when you remove the tape. I selected this product due to being a quality brand; 3M, please consider revamping this product. Thank you.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought 2 new rolls of scotch blue 2093EL. I taped the room in the morning, taping over paint that had dried for about 36 hours. I came back 4 hours later to paint. Most of the tape had pulled away from the wall. I re-seated most of it, but had to hold off on painting until the next day. Regrettably it pulled away again. I pulled all of it off and retaped with Scotch blue original 2090 which I have used for years without any problems. I will stick with the original scotch blue from now on. .

Ripped paint off of the wall

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was painting trim with a small brush, and so I wanted a narrower tape to use. I found this and decided to try it. When I removed it, it took a large strip of paint off of the wall with it, to the point where I now have to sand and repaint that entire section of the wall. When I retape the area, I'm going back to frog tape, which has yet to fail me since I started painting my house last year.

I within seconds of me putting the tape on the wall, it started to peel off. I had re-tape multiple times which took forever. I highly recommend not buying this product.

When I bought a name brand tape I expected for it to stick. I'm repainting my car and the tape doesn't hold the paper to the metal.
That's what I get for expecting quality from a name brand. Should have bought the cheap stuff.
