this product was a pain to get off without peeling the paint.

I was extremely dissapointed with this product. I had just gotten new windows put in my house. I wanted to paint around the windows; this was needed because of the holes that were patched up etc. I masked all around my new vinyl windows' and painted two coats around each one. When it came time to take the tape off it started peeling the paint off!. I had to cut between the window and the tape with an exacto knife for each window!!! What a pain!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great product. Really covers all areas where I don't want paint to spatter. So easy to use in the refillable container.

This product tears paint and drywall

I am highly disappointed with the quality of the tape. This is was my first time painting project and I decided to paint half the walls of my entire 1200 sq.ft condo. Being risk adverse, I made sure to splurge on what I thought would be quality tape and purchased a few rolls of the ScotchBlue™ Painter's Tape Multi-Surface with Advanced Edge-Lock™ Paint Line Protector 2093EL. I read and followed the instructions to test on a spot first; I placed a piece of tape on the wall and after a few hours I removed the tape which came off perfectly fine. As a result I proceeded to tape all necessary walls and baseboards. I was absolutely horrified when I went to proudly remove the tape from such a large painting project and revealed chunks of paint and drywall torn off the walls. The tape was supposed to protect the walls I wasn’t painting but instead created a nightmare as I now have to sand the chunky drywall and somehow find a decent color match (previous owners chose color and didn’t leave a can to color match).
To make things even worse, the tape was extremely difficult to take off in certain areas and came off in tiny little bits further increasing the time of this painting project.
Painters beware – this product is terrible.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Preparing for painting is the biggest chore and this tape makes is easier. I had no damage to the wood surfaces and it was wide enough to make it easy to use and handle.

Been painting and varnishing boats professionally for many years and it seems that the blue tape is getting worse and worse. First off it doesn't like to stick to it's self when over lapped. Second it leaves behind some if not most of the adhesive. You might not see this but let a little dust blow around and there is a dirty tape width line. Costs many extra hours of detailing just to clean up that residue. This is especially true on gel-coat but also on and sanded surfaces. If it is not properly cleaned during the detailing it makes for some irate conversations with yacht owners. If taped over sanded surfaces the residue shows very obviously when finish is applied. I'll fed up and finding a new tape supplier.
