We have multiple steel file cabinets in our house but we needed a small file holder for a specific limited requirement. This item permits the use of hanging folders is inexpensive and just large enough for our need. A 4-star instead of a 5 because it is only a week old and we don't know how long it will last.

I've owned many file boxes of this style. This is the first one that I have returned due to poor quality of the product. The hinged lid separates from the file box unless you are extremely careful when opening the lid. The entire box has a cheap and flimsy feel. Don't be misled by "star" ratings on this product! When I tried to answer with a "2" rating from the email that I was sent the page wouldn't let me award anything but 5 stars. Very sketchy. So far I haven't found any Tru Red products that I would buy a second time including lined notebook paper (how hard is THAT to screw up???)

The lock closure fell off the box within 2 weeks causing me to drop my box full of files. Then the lid disconnected from the top as a result of the drop so everything fell on the ground! I bought it to replace one that I had for about 6 years but nothing is made to last anymore.

We have many of these going back at least ten years. Most practical way to store "records required keeping" out of sight but easily accessed. Keep this item in your assortment!!!!
