Great file box for the price. I often overfill my file cabinets and file boxes to the point they break. Not this one. Have only used it for two weeks and have taken it with me to various meetings and location. Holds up. I also like the option of being able to put a small padlock to secure it.

The top hinge unsnapped a couple of times but I was able to snap it back in. Otherwise the file box is great for mu purposes.

I expected something inexpensive (read cheap) to be rather flimsy and I wasn’t disappointed. The box bottom was almost OK except for the clasp which doesn’t hold very well and the handle doesn’t feel sturdy enough to carry even a medium amount of files. The top has what looks like a convenient tray but it is very shallow and the clasp doesn’t hold well either. Postage stamps address labels and other flat lightweight items will work OK - but be prepared to have to pick them up from time to time if you inadvertently bump the lid. Finally the two “snap-on” hinges of the top are also very flimsy and prone to SNAP OFF if you’re not careful. After reading this review I decided to take this tote back and spend a little more money for a more substantially built one - perhaps a tote with a handle and wheels. I cannot recommend this tote.

Carrying capacity less than other models. Top locking mechanism too tight- difficult to open. Cover designed to hold miscellaneous items like paperclips rubber bands and pens routinely falls off when you open. When you open the cover all the way and let if fall to the back it comes off its hinges.
