I use these boxes for medical records so they are available at a glance in case of emergency. I have one for each member of the family. I do not keep financial information in them because even though there is a place to put a lock they could just be picked up and carried off. These are meant for non-security papers and are very good quality and roomy. I would recommend them for any files that do not need security storage.

This replaced an old heavy metal file box whose handle dug in my hands and latch could not be trusted. I love that this has some storage in the lid for pens/pencils and note pads. It is light weight but sturdy and the latch fastens securely.
