Great for clean paint edges

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this product for free by 3M to review.
I needed to do some drywall touchup, then paint over it. I put up some of this tape then did a couple layers of mortar, then a couple layers of paint. I had a great piece of mind knowing this tape would keep the other surface clean. After everything was dried this came off pretty easily. Overall it made the job much easier and quicker.

Never buying again

I recently painted over a wall that was very brightly colored. It took 3 coats of primer to cover it, then I followed with two coats of paint. I allowed proper drying time on all coats, and allowed it to cure at low humidity for a few days before moving on to the next wall. I taped up the cured wall to paint the next one, and when I removed the tape it pulled off the coats of paint and the primer to reveal the original color! This has put me behind in my project, and has created significantly more work for me. Next time I will buy something better quality.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Absolute TRASH

I bought this to tape off trim on multiple furniture pieces i needed to paint. I taped, primed, then painted two coats on each piece. When I began removing the tape, I noticed a harsh line as well as wood stain coming off on the tape. I left it on less than 48 hours TOTAL, which doesn’t seem like an unrealistic period of time. I’m beyond unimpressed and wholly dissatisfied with this product… after putting 60+ hours into sanding and prepping and staining and painting this is unacceptable. If I was able to leave ZERO stars, I would! Never again!!!!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

terrible product

Worst tape I've ever used. Managed to take off the base layer and texture and damage the paper layer of the drywall. Still had crappy lines with all that. I'd rate 0 if I could.

More than unhappy!

What is going on with this tape? I taped off the floor so I can paint my trim and when I followed the manufactures recommended method of removal it took the finish off my floor.

Worst Tape Ever

Tape dont stick to nothing. I cleaned everything and it still wont stick. Not even to plastic. Big waste of money and time having to go re tape everything over and over. Afraid when its finally time to paint its just gonna blow off and im gonna ruin everything I tried covering. I would never recommend this tape to anybody but their system wont let me go with 0/never only a one. LOL
