This is exactly what I needed for my classroom icebreaker activity. The variety of pastel colors make it easy for me to assign different cards for different groups but the colors are not so bright that the students have a hard time seeing what they have written even if they use pencils instead of pens. This item worked so well that I went ahead and bought enough for the next several semesters.
