Paper colors are great but they don't hold any kind of ink including ball point gel and Sharpie. I noticed I had ink all over my hands after handling these a couple hours after using markers on them. I looked again at the cards and they were all smudged. Re-tested with a ball point pen a gel pen and then a Sharpie. All three smeared easily. Will be returning them to Staples.

Heavyweight = .012" thick = 140 Lb Index = 93 Lb Bond = 253 GSM Still not as thick as your 80's-childhood-regular-old-manila index cards IMO but whatevs. It's the best they have. Yes I measured with calipers to get .012". The weight ratings are from a chart on Okis website (printer company). Hope that helps :)
These cards are useful when working with individual children. The cards can be used in a variety of ways. Young children enjoy working with these cards.
I used these index cards as part of my presentation at a conference. The colors jazzed up my poster area. It was a great way to attract people to my poster session.
