It was not designed to hold any appreciable amount of files (i.e. weight). If you put too many documents in the drawers they slip out of alignment. You get what you pay for.
This would be perfect for filing household expenses and important papers and such. Not as good for anything heavy. I got mine to store and organize my family history research genealogy books and to store a few reams of paper. The paper and books are too heavy and I need to put them somewhere else. But generally it's worth the price. I would consider getting another one for storing light weight stuff I'm not going to access every day.
Thought I had found the perfect little file cabinet for my home. Need one that’s 18” -20” deep on casters with fully extending drawers. The top drawer on this cabinet would only open 4” leaving 14” totally inaccessible. Not acceptable!
