It was a great little filing cabinet to hold my day to day files. I have various people coming in and out of my home when I am not here. The lock certainly will not keep them from getting into the file if they want to. A screwdriver and a good tug would open the drawers. The damage would alert me that this had happened. That is really all I wanted. If you need a lock to actually keep people out of the cabinet please spend a few more dollars.

I love my new filing cabinet. As soon as it arrived I immediately unpacked it. All I had to do was attach the handles to the sliding drawers. My letter size colored file folders fit perfectly. The drawers are easy to open and close and the lock and key are an extra added bonus. It came in the cream color I ordered. I might be purchasing another just like it for my personal bills etc. as the one I just recently bought is being used fully for my school work and career information. Thank you so much Staples.

The bottom of the locking drawer is rippled. One side of the cabinet is dented. There are gaps between the side of the cabinet and the drawers. Will have to place this cabinet in a closet to use -(not ideal). Since the shipping package showed no signs of abuse can only conclude that this product was a result of poor construction and poor quality control. Cannot recommend.
