The band is so tight they have no give and when you try to use them on just about anything they snap (usually painfully so) back and break. They are only good with the smallest of items.

I bought these to replace some rubber bands holding stacks of photographic slides together. The original bands had gotten so old they were falling apart and breaking. These worked well for the purpose. I'll know in 10 years whether they held up as well as the originals.
