Lock button works poorly

When I try to use the lock button on this otherwise attractive three hole punch it fails to work without spending time to straighten it out. Byrne Degrandpre ps I will return it and get another.

This hole punch is perfect for letter sized paper. Unlike my old 3 hole punch you cannot adjust the holes but if you strictly need this for 8.5 x 11 it works perfectly!
