The sides on the hanging folders prevents the contents from spilling out when you pull them from the file drawer. Excellent design!

I'm a saver. Of menus guide books trail folders maps. My hanging files Ina rusting cabinet needed an overhaul so I visited Staples. I was very pleased to see these hanging pockets since my files were overloaded. I only needed 2 pockets to organize all my Cape Cod restaurant menus. One pocket held all my trail maps. These work so much better than just regular hanging files if you have a lot of papers in one category to file.
