much better than reg hanging file folder

I've been using these expandable hanging file pocket style folders in our filing cabinets for years. They are durable and hold much more paper than the regular hanging file folders. Because they are expandable you can put many file folders in each one and they keep your filing cabinets neat and organized. The metal hangers seem to be sturdy and do not tear from the ends even under a significant amount of weight from the paper inside the files.

These are a little pricey. However after using them I find they are worth the cost. I first used them this year during tax season. I keep all of me documentation in individual hanging folders in my file cabinet - that takes up a lot of space. These hanging file folders expand to 3.5". Now instead of having a separate file folder for each category I place those category of documents in "clasp envelopes" which I label and place in this one expansion file folder. I have everything I need in one place - one hanging file folder. I carry that one file folder to the Tax Preparer and when I am done I place that same file folder in my cabinet. I have every document associated with that tax year in one place. I apply the same principle to other documents I want to retain for several years - like mortgage statements - banking statements - ect. I have found that one of these expanding folders will hold the contents of 5 regular folders - and - takes up less space. That's a good value.
