[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used these pencils quite a bit especially with my kids who have been using Summer bridge books and I have to say I have never seen a pencil that is as dependable and smooth as Bic velocity. Many mechanical pencils that I have used are very rough and the eraser is horrible and always leave black smudges but I've yet to come across any of these issues with the velocity pencils. I'm so excited because my kids love to use mechanical pencils and now I don't mind spending a little bit extra for a mechanical pencil that is actually worth it.

My son and his friends love the colors and that they come with extra lead and erasers. The lead is strong. You don't have to worry about pushing too hard. They can't wait to go to school and use them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bic sent me a pack of their new Velocity Mechanical Pencils to try out and give an unbiased review of their new product. Now we all know that Bic has always made high quality products, so I was not surprised to try these pencils out and instantly fall in love with them. Most mechanical pencils look alike and boring. The package of Bic Velocity pencils come with 5 different colors and they immediately stand out! It's great if you have a boy and girl and can split the package up with their favorite colors. Personally, I love the pink one and it's my favorite! Another great point is since these pencils stand out, you are less likely to lose them or have someone else pick it up by mistake. It can be very frustrating to parents when they buy new school supplies and shortly after they go missing. This product is great to stay on budget. As for the design, the size is larger than many other mechanical pencils on the market so they fit better in my hand and are the size of most pens. The grip is soft and smooth and rests perfectly in my hand. The clip is also a little bigger so it's definitely more sturdy! I always tend to break the clip on other pencils which leaves a sharp edge and just looks old and broken, so those ones always end up in the trash, even if they are brand new. Since the Velocity pencils won't break,they will outlast every other pencil I own. The package of 5 also comes with lead and eraser refills. This is definitely a bonus, especially for parents with younger kids that tend to do a lot of erasing or those of us adults that like to erase to make things perfect! The pencils come with a clear cap on the eraser which prevents the eraser from falling out and keeps it intact. Now down to the the most important part of this review, which is how it writes. My writing is extremely smooth and just the right size. The lead is not too thick and not too thin. It really is very nice to write with and doesn't smudge. It also erases beautifully! I can't stand eraser makes on paper and this mechanical pencil has the best eraser I have used. Overall, I was really impressed with these pencils. As a parent, I know these pencils will last much longer with my youngest kids. The lead is thick enough not to break and the eraser works well. Plus they won't have other kids borrow it and forget to get it back. I know I will be using a pencil more frequently after trying them out. This is the perfect time of year to pick up a package. You will not be disappointed! This is really a high quality product at an affordable cost. You can't go wrong!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just LOVE these mechanical pencils! I use them every day in my piano teaching business. Only recommendation would be to make the erasers a little more sturdy (if possible) and leave the plastic cap off. It's not really necessary and I keep having to remove it every time I want to erase. Guess I could just leave it off for good but.....they work well, the leads last a long time, I'm still using the same pencil I started using when I first got my Bzz kit. It's nice dark lead....would definitely recommend these to ANYone!

BIC Velocity pencils write much smoother than the other mechanical pencils out on the market.. I've yet to break" the lead.. What would I want to know before getting this item? All of the above.. Buy a 2 pack of the BIC Velocity and compare with other mechanical pencils

The lead doesn't break as easily as most mechanical pencils. They include a lot of extra lead and erasers. The fun colors are nice and bright for kids. The pencils write smooth without smudging or feathering.
