He just worked on a school assignment & was thrilled that not one time did the lead split, crumble, or break off while he was writing. He presses hard when he writes so he will often break the lead. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were so excited to get the Bic Velocity mechanical pencils in! I'm not sure who was more excited tho - me, the kids, or the husband!!! My husband ended up taking more than half the package after the kids got done drawing their pictures. He LOVES them. He likes the way they fit in his hand and write so smoothly. He does carpentry work so precise lines are important. Although the kids and I LOVE the bright colors and how fun they are to use I do believe my husband is Velocity's biggest fan!!!

He absolutely loves them! No need to get up durning class & be a disruption or miss something by having to sharpen your pencil! The lead is great quality, doesn't break as easily as others.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love wooden pencils, a fresh pack at the start of every school year is my favorite part of back to school. This year we started the school year with the BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils and I can safely say I'm a convert! It has the look and feel of a pen, a perfectly fine tip every, and writes smoother than any other mechanical pencil I've tried. I am old fashioned and still use a paper planner - with a pencil because, of course - and I can fit more into the tiny appointment spaces. I gave a few to my colleagues (I work with behavior analysts who take and graph data with pencils all day) and they all agree they like it better and went out to buy their own. My son uses one for homework and his handwriting has genuinely improved! This is huge as he is an 11 year old boy who struggles with writing in general. Overall I love my BIC velocity mechanical pencils and will continue to buy them every time!
