The side clic makes use super easy and the smoothness of the writing is beyond compare. The only thing i would change would be to make the eraser a little better. Comes in cool colors too!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bic Velocity Mechanical Prncils are high quality pencils, my grand daughters not only love the bright vibrant colors, but also the way the pencils write so smoothly and how the lead is not easily broken when you are writing. These pencils look pretty darn close to a pen, as the lead comes out of the pencil through how the tip of a pen comes out of a pen making them the perfect mechanical pencil especially for school age children. I love that these mechanical pencils have a top for their erasers, and the erasers top is what you click on to advance the lead down into the pencil tip. They come in a pack of 5 great colors and have an extra container of pencil lead as well. I'm telling you, if I was a kid in middle or high school these would be my mechanical pencils of choice. I was excited to write with them and even more excited over how my 9 and 12 year old grand daughters where excited from trying them. I highly recommend the Bic Velocity Mechsnical Pencil for Your eager student to help with not only learning this school year, but with expressing themselves .

Most mechanical pencils I have used have lead that you must use excessive force to see which results in broken lead. The BIC Velocity pencils write without much pressure which means less broken lead. Definately a plus in my book.

Either they break apart, fall off when used, or don't really erase much at all. Not the case with these! The fluidity of writing with the pencil is fabulous. Overall, these are great pencils!

I love to draw and write, now I mainly use them for lists and with some of my designing for my knitting. I shared my BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils with my children.(ages 10 and 7) My 10 year old daughter is into drawing everything and making comics with her friends. She loves the ability to sharpen think lines without making them to thick, and having strong pencil leads. I'm rather fond of the replacement set of erasers and pencil lead packaging. That is a new and innovative option that I've never seen before but absolutely love. I would definitely purchase these if I saw them in store just to keep a stash around.
